Nilgiris: Tamil Nadu CB CID Police has sent a summons to then Nilgiris district SP Murali Ramba in the sensational Kodanad murder cum heist case which happened in 2017. He is expected to appear before the CB CID in January.
The CB CID has started a re-investigation into the sensational case to unravel the mysteries involved in the case.
Earlier, a special team led by Inspector General (West Zone) Sudhakar was formed and an investigation was underway. So far Vivek, a relative of Sasikala and Sasikala, a close aide of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa, and former MLA Aarukutty and his relatives were questioned in connection with the case.
Similarly, AIADMK functionaries, industrialists, Jayalalithaa's personal assistant Poongundran and relatives of the deceased car driver Kanagaraj, accused Walayar Manoj and Sayan, who were involved in the case, were also questioned.
Senthil, a Namakkal-based lawyer who is closely associated with the Sasikala family and a friend of TTV Dinakaran, and Azhaguraj, a former editor of Namma Amma daily, were also questioned by the Special Cell at the Coimbatore police training school premises.
Subsequently, the case was transferred to the CB-CID and the investigation of the case was expedited, following which Kodanad CCTV operator Dinesh, the key person in the case, was questioned by the CB-CID special cell two days ago.
Following this, the CB-CID special team issued summons to Murali Ramba, who was the SP of the Nilgiris district at the time of the Kodanad murder and heist case took place.
Murali is currently working in the CBI police unit in Andhra Pradesh. Summons has been issued through the CBI headquarters. Former SP Murali is expected to appear in January.
The case seems to have gained momentum again as the CB-CID special police have intensified the investigation.
