College student drowns while bathing in pond with friends in Coimbatore

Satish Kumar, a college student who had gone to bathe with his friends in a pond at Onnipalayam within Periyanaickenpalayam police station limits drowned after he got stuck in the mud inside the pond.


Coimbatore: 17-year-old Satish Kumar, a student of Computer Science at the Ramakrishna Polytechnic College is the son of Amudha from Idikarai in Coimbatore.

Satish went with his friends to bathe in a pond in Onnipalayam area along with two of his friends and got accidentally stuck in the mud in the pond and drowned tragically.

The Periyanaickenpalayam police who reached the spot after receiving information of the drowning, recovered the body of Sathish Kumar with the help of the Fire Department.

The body was sent to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
