Wild elephant on a rampage in Gudalur town, attacks poultry-carrying truck

CCTV footage of a wild elephant trying to attack a truck carrying chicken in Gudalur town has gone viral on social media.


Nilgiris: Wild elephants straying out of the Gudalur forest area in the Nilgiris district have been a recurring phenomenon. They often do it in search of food and water.



A wild elephant, which entered the town in the wee hours of New Year's Day in the Sembala area, made the public run helter-skelter.



The wild elephant tried to attack a vehicle transporting chickens on its rampage.

Alarmed, the driver and helper of the vehicle parked the vehicle and fled from the scene.

The elephant then knocked down the vehicle and continued its rampaging ways.

The footage of the elephant attacking the vehicle was captured on a CCTV camera at a commercial establishment in the vicinity.

The visuals have gone viral on social media and have created a lot of buzz among netizens.
