Prabhakar IPS assumes charge as Superintendent of Police (SP) of Nilgiris district; vows to make it drug-free

Prabhakar took charge as the Superintendent of Police of Nilgiris district and vowed to decongest towns including Ooty and Coonoor.



The Nilgiris: Prabhakar assumed charge as the new Superintendent of Police of Nilgiris district. Ashish Rawat, who held the post earlier was recently shifted to the waiting list. Prabhakar has earlier served as Chief Security Officer of CMRL.

Later speaking to reporters, he said, Maoists from Kerala will be prevented from infiltrating into Nilgiris district.

The new SP also assured that steps will be taken to reduce traffic congestion in towns including Ooty and Coonoor and assured to make Nilgiris, a drug-free district.

Prabhakar who had cleared the Group I examination and joined as DSP in Tamil Nadu Police had also served as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in the Special Task Force in various areas including Valparai.
