The driver of the tipper lorry lost control of the vehicle in Thamaraikulam area near Coimbatore after hitting a roadblock and crashed into a textile shop, and was immediately admitted to a hospital by passers-by, due to his grievous injuries.

After transporting construction materials to Pollachi, Manimaran who was driving the lorry back to Coimbatore suddenly lost control of the vehicle near Thamaraikulam in the wee hours of Monday morning.
The lorry ended up hitting a barricade in the middle of the road and crashed into a nearby textile shop. Since it was early in the morning, there were no employees inside the textile shop, owing to which a major loss of lives was averted.
Passers-by enlisted the help of a crane and tried to pull the truck out of the textile shop.
Manimaran, who was trapped in the truck sustained serious injuries on the right side of his body. After about an hour's struggle, Manimaran was finally rescued by the public and immediately rushed to a hospital in an ambulance.
The Kinathukadavu police have registered a case and are investigating the accident.
