Coimbatore International Airport distinguishes itself at 13th rank among top 20 airports operating flights on time

Coimbatore International Airport has made India proud by being ranked 13th by the official airline guide, in the list of airports across the globe that operate flights on time.



The official airline guide has published a list of 20 airports that operate flights on time at airports across the world. Accordingly, flights arriving at the airport and those departing from the same airport are assessed to see if they are being operated on time at the airport. Marks are awarded to each airport based on On Time Performance (OTP).

Accordingly, 10 airports from Japan have been included in the list of 20 top airports. Apart from this, Japan also occupies the top four positions in the list with an OTP of 91.45%, 91.44%, 91.44%, 91.34% and 90.78%.

Japan's top four airports are followed by South Africa's Durban King Saha Airport at the 5th position with an OTP of 89.73%. Japan's airports are ranked 6th, 7th, 10th, 11th and 12th. Similarly, airports from Brazil, Panama, Peru and Ecuador are also featured.

In this international ranking, Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore International Airport has been ranked 13th with an OTP of 88.01%. Coimbatore airport is the only airport in India to feature in the list of 20 airports in the world that operates flights on time.
