Chief Minister M K Stalin, was responding to a question by legislator T. Ramachandran on the death of Subhasree, who died in mysterious circumstances after going to the Isha Yoga Centre for training.
Coimbatore: Palanikumar (40) and Subashree (34) hail from Tirupur district. Both of them were working in a textile company in Tirupur district.
It is learnt that the duo used to visit the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore from time to time for yoga practice.
Similarly, on December 11, Subhasree had gone to the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore for a week-long yoga practice called "Silence".
On December 18, her husband Palanikumar went to the Isha Yoga Center to pick up his wife as she had completed a week's training.
When Subhasree did not turn up even after a long time, he inquired about her whereabouts with the staff of Isha Yoga centre, who said she had already left.
On examining the CCTV footage installed there, it was found out that Subhasree had gone out in the morning itself.
It was also revealed that she had gone to the Semmedu area and used a call taxi for some distance.
However, as her whereabouts could not be ascertained, her husband Palanikumar lodged a complaint with the Alandurai police on December 19. A case was registered and an investigation commenced to trace the missing woman.
Nearly 14 days later, subashree's body was found dead in a farm well in Tulukkankadu area.
The incident in which a woman who went missing from Isha Yoga Centre and her body recovered from a well sent shockwaves across Tamil Nadu.
Leaders of various political parties and the general public have been demanding a serious probe into the matter and protests were held.
In this situation, Thalli constituency MLA Ramachandran on Thursday demanded in the Assembly that a separate probe should be constituted to conduct a proper inquiry into the incident.
Responding to this, Chief Minister M K Stalin said a case was registered at the Alandurai police station on December 19 on the basis of a complaint lodged by Palanikumar.
It was later found that Subhasree was found dead in a well near Tulukkankadu farm land. His body was recovered and an autopsy was conducted by a team of three doctors at coimbatore medical college. Thereafter, Subhasree's body was handed over to her husband Palanikumar.
Moreover, the CCTV footage is being scrutinised to arrive at a conclusion with the case, Subashree and her husband's mobile phones have been seized and further investigation is underway.
The truth will definitely be established in the case of Subhasree's mysterious death” the CM assured the house.
