Licence of private bus drivers who caused an accident near Kinathukadavu cancelled

Driving licenses of 2 drivers who caused accidents by driving private buses at high speed near Kinathukadavu have been cancelled.


Coimbatore: Authorities have taken action against the drivers of private buses who caused the accident in Sendrampalayam pirivu near Kinathukadavu.

The deceased has been identified as Angathal (55), wife of Sivalingam, a native of Kothavadi near Kinathukadavu in Coimbatore district. Their son Muniappan (35). He is said to be mentally ill.

On The 17th, Angathal and Muniyappan tried to cross the Coimbatore-Pollachi four-lane road at Sendrampalayam pirivu.

Two private buses, which were passing by, collided head-on with two persons. Angathal died in this. Muniyappan is undergoing intensive treatment.

Kinathukadavu police have launched an investigation into the matter. It was found that the two buses that caused the accident were also running at a high speed with a competition.

A case has been registered against the drivers of the buses Santhosh (30) of Kottur in Pollachi and Senthil Kumar (38) of Chellappampalayam in Udumalpet in Tirupur district.

Inspector Senthil Kumar recommended to Pollachi Regional Transport Officer Muruganantham to cancel their driving licenses. He suspended the licence temporarily and took action.

A bus that caused the accident was also cancelled as a speed control device was broken and its fitness certificate was cancelled. The regional transport officer has warned that action will continue against the buses and drivers plying at high speed.
