Coimbatore: Minister of Charitable Endowments Minister Sekar Babu has said that the kumbabishekam will be held soon at the Perur Pateeswarar temple.

Minister of Charitable Endowments Minister Sekar Babu inspected the elephant shed which is being constructed on the land belonging to Angalamman temple, a sub-temple of Perur Pateeswarar temple in Coimbatore.

He also reviewed the plan on the arrangements for the Maha Shivratri event.

In addition, the newly constructed photovoltaic umbrellas were also inspected and a laboratory was constructed. The construction of a temple in the temple complex at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore is going on at the Pateeswarar temple in Coimbatore.

A sum of Rs 100 crore has been allocated by the Chief Minister to this department in the financial year 2022-23 on the basis of conservation of historical ancient temples.

About 104 temples have been taken up for this purpose. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu is also giving whatever he asked for to the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. This is a special time for spiritualists.

Wherever garbage is collected near the temple, it should be brought to our notice. The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department will continue to remove it. A signature has been sought for repairing the Perur chariot stand and work will be taken up as soon as possible.

If there is any encroachment in the areas around the chariot, steps will be taken to remove the encroachments as per the legal provisions and bring them around the chariot.

He said that 80 per cent of the ongoing works in the areas giving tarpanam in Perur have been completed and I request you to complete the remaining works at the earliest.

Replying to a question on the dumping of goods at the Marudhamalai temple a few days ago, the minister said only the clothes used for the ceremony were thrown away. It said that there was no impact and at the same time, once the video came out, it was advised not to do so in the future.

He also said that “the renovation work of the temple is being carried out with the help of special artists to ensure that the antiquities do not change and the government will preserve the antiquities as treasures.

Shivratri was held in one temple on behalf of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department last year and this year it will be held in five temples. It will also be held in the Patteeswarar temple in Coimbatore. Arrangements will be made for the devotees in all the five temples.

Prasadams will be brought from various temples and given to the devotees and stalls will be set up and various spiritual books will be displayed and sold. Various musical instruments will also be called in and performances will be held on that day, he said.

Shivaratri will be celebrated in 3 acres of land in Coimbatore. Facilities for the participation of thousands of devotees, parking lots and basic amenities will be provided.

In a manner not seen in any other regime, 407 Kumbabishegams have been conducted in this regime. Very soon, the consecration of Perur Patteeswarar temple will be held at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore. In more than 2,000 temples, the financial assistance has been increased from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. Those who are unwilling to accept these things are making various allegations against Dravidar Kazhagam.

We don't care about that, our work depends on the people, he said. This regime is a regime that gives space to a spiritual revolution. The rule of spiritual revolution. Such a renovation has not taken place in any regime”, he said.
