Coimbatore: Vasanthi, wife of Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam general secretary K Ramakrishnan, a resident of Gandhipuram in Coimbatore, passed away today.
DMK deputy general secretary A Raja MP, minister Senthil Balaji, former minister Pongalur Palanisamy, DMK city district secretary N Karthik and north district secretary Thondamuthur Ravi paid floral tributes.
Coimbatore Corporation Mayor Kalpana, Deputy Mayor Vetrichelvan, Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam General Secretary Kolathur Mani, Perarivalan and Arputhammal paid floral tributes.
Following this, the body was taken in a procession from his residence in Gandhipuram and cremated at the electric crematorium at Pappa Nayakan Palayam.
Dmk state and district office bearers, area union secretaries, ward secretaries and thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam members participated in the funeral procession.
