DMK councillor attacks residents for raising questions about poor quality of newly- laid road at a grievances day meet near Annur

A video of a DMK councilor and his henchmen attacking a group of people who questioned the substandard quality of newly laid roads near Annur has gone viral on social media.


Coimbatore: A concrete road was laid an the estimated cost of Rs 6.31 lakh a few days ago under the Anna Marumalarchi Scheme in Lakshmi Garden area of 9th ward of Kondayampalayam panchayat

In the meanwhile, residents raised complaints about the poor quality of the newly laid road.



In this situation, public grievances the meeting was held at Lakshmi Garden area last night, which was presided over by DMK Councillor Mohan of ward 9.

When some youths from the area claimed that the road had been constructed in a substandard manner and raised questions, it led to a noisy argument between councillor Mohan and the youths.



As the argument escalated, DMK men, including DMK councillor Mohan, attacked the youth who raised the questions.

In the melee, a woman belonging to the DMK attacked one man with slippers.

Presently, the three injured persons in the attack are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

Consequently, Residents of Lakshmi Garden area has lodged a complaint with the Kovilpalayam police station about the incident.

In the meanwhile, some of the DMK men got themselvesadmitted to the hospital and also lodged false complaints against the public with the police.
