Automatic ticketing machine at Udumalpet railway station

The installation of an automatic ticketing machine at Udumalai railway station in Tirupur district for the convenience of passengers is in progress. Passengers rejoiced that unreserved passengers will no longer have to wait in long queues to buy tickets.

Tirupur: A new automatic ticket vending machine has been introduced at Udumalpet railway station in Tirupur district to address the congestion at the ticket counter during the arrival of the train.

Train travel is the preferred choice of more and more people on public means of transport. While the bus fares have gone up manifold, many people prefer to travel by train as the train fare is low and it is a tedious journey.

At present, a large number of passengers have started using Udumalai railway station. At the same time there is only one ticket counter. Unreserved passengers have to wait in long queues to buy tickets. Moreover, when the train arrives, one has to wait in a desperate queue and sometimes miss the train.

Therefore, there has been a long-standing demand on behalf of the passengers to set up an additional ticket counter at Udumalpet railway station. In this situation, an automatic ticket distribution machine has arrived at Udumalpet railway station for installation. Tickets can be obtained by paying by entering the departure point, destination and type of train on this machine and scanning the 'QR code'.

Thus, passengers will be able to get tickets as soon as possible, avoiding public waiting. With this machine, pre-booked tickets can be obtained for all types of trains including passenger and express. Officials said the machine will come into public use once the installation work is completed. The people of Udumalpet and the railway passengers are happy that their long-standing demand has been fulfilled.
