The Commissioner and Deputy Mayor ordered the corporation officials to immediately remove the garbage, overgrown bushes in the Rajavaikal area.
Coimbatore: M.Prathap, City Corporation Commissioner along with Vetri Selvan, Deputy Mayor on Monday inspected ongoing civic works in the South Zone of the civic body.

The Commissioner and Deputy Mayor ordered the corporation officials for the immediate removal of the garbage and overgrown bushes in the Rajavaikal area.

The Commissioner also examined the open drains in the area and ordered the repair and renovation of it.

The team also inspected the solid management in the residential areas of ward no.79 of the Southern Zone, which was followed by a visit to the Micro Composting Centre located at Chokkampudur.
The inspection team included Assistant Commissioner N Annadurai, Dhanalakshmi, South Zone Chairman, Councillor Vasanthamani and other Corporation officials.

Four push carts were given to Ward No. 56 during the inspection which was sponsored by Jayam Automotives Ltd.
The carts would be used to separate the waste into biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes.
Inspector Murugesan and Health Superintendent Ramasamy were present during the inspection.
