Known history sheeter stabbed to death in Coimbatore by another absconding criminal

Velu, a known history sheeter who was under the influence of alcohol in Velandipalayam area of Coimbatore, was stabbed by another known rowdy, Tomato Madhavan, who is now absconding.


Coimbatore: Velu alias Velusamy, a known history sheeter from Kovilmedu on Thadagam Road in Coimbatore, already has several criminal cases pending against him.

Similarly, another well-known rowdy, Tomato Madhavan of Kavundampalayam, has around 21 cases pending against him.

In this case, the two had consumed liquor with their friends on Monday night. A verbal dispute broke out between the two and later turned into a clash and rowdy Velu ran away fearing for his life.



At that time, Velu, who was running on Kondasamy Naidu Road near Velandipalayam, was surrounded by Tomato Madhavan who stabbed him with a hidden knife and fled.

Saibaba Colony police station police, who rushed to the spot on receiving information, Velu, who was battling for his life after his intestines collapsed, was rescued and admitted to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment.

The police are on the lookout for the absconding gangster and his associates after collecting CCTV footage from the area.
