The distribution of 2-5 kg cylinders has been launched at the fair price shop in Aranmanaipudur area of Tirupur from Thursday. Following the reception, it was decided to extend it to all shops.
Tirupur: A ration shop near Aranmanaipudur in Tirupur district has launched a 2-kg and five-kg cylinder distribution scheme from Thursday.
State-run Indian Oil weighs 14.20 kg for homes and 19 kg for commercial use. It sells cooking gas cylinders. In order to get the cylinder connection in these two categories, the gas agencies will have to submit documents such as Aadhaar number and address proof.
Meanwhile, labourers who migrate to places like Tirupur, Chennai and Coimbatore for work are finding it difficult to get cylinder connections due to lack of address proof in the cities where they live.
Similarly, for the convenience of labourers from outside the state, such as trolley vendors, etc., the cooperative department decided to sell it in ration shops in association with Indian Oil.

Accordingly, in the first phase, the scheme was launched from Thursday at a fair price shop called South One in Aranmanaipudur area of Tirupur.

In two kilos and five kilos, these cylinders are currently on sale.
This scheme has been introduced for the convenience of workers from outside the district and states. Cylinders can be obtained by showing any document related to their Aadhaar card or their address.
Now for the first time in Tirupur city, this scheme has been introduced in this shop. Depending on the response, the scheme will be implemented in all fair price shops soon.
