Special night prayers conducted in many mosques in the city, as Ramadan fasting commences

A large number of Muslim devotees participated in this special prayer held at most of the mosques in the city.


Coimbatore: Following the commencement of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan fasting, special night prayers were held in a number of mosques in the city.

Muslims across the world observe a 30-day long fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

Ramadan fasting began in Tamil Nadu yesterday as per the announcement of the Chief Qazi. This was followed by a special night prayer called “Tarawih” prayers in the mosques.



A large number of Muslim devotees participated in this special prayer held at most of the mosques in the city.

It is to be noted that the night prayers will be held for 30 days throughout the month of Ramadan.
