Residents complain of indiscriminate dumping and burning of tyres near Selvarpuram Bypass road

The residents are hoping that the City Corporation will take prompt action and bring an end to this practice.


Coimbatore: Indiscriminate dumping and burning of wastes including old tyres near Yoga Sastha Villa on Selvapuram Bypass road has caused environmental pollution according to the residents of the area.



“Tyres of cycles, two-wheelers and heavy vehicles which got dumped here are ignited to extract metal out of the leftovers thus causing a lot of pollution in the area’ they said.



The residents have raised the issue with the City Corporation as burnt tyres emit thick toxic smoke causing respiratory issues to many residents.



The residents are hoping that the City Corporation will take prompt action and bring an end to this practice.
