Scorching summer heat - Sale of earthen pots on the rise

Earthen pots, including the jug, jar, round shape, old copper pot shape, pipe mounted, have been put on sale in a capacity of 10 litres to 30 litres in most areas of Coimbatore region. Udumalai earthen pot vendors said they sell for Rs 250 to Rs 500 depending on the shape and capacity.



Tirupur: With the onset of summer season in Tamil Nadu, the impact of the heat wave is more in the afternoon. Due to this, people from all walks of life, including those living in their homes and motorists, are suffering from the impact of the heat.

People have started resorting to coconut water, fruit juice, etc., to regulate the body heat. In this way, the people of Udumalpet have started buying more earthen pots to drink cold water.



In view of this, in Udumalpet, pottery made of clay in various forms such as water pots jug, jar, round shape, old copper pot shape, piped earthen pot etc. have been put on sale.



Pots with a capacity of 10 litres to 30 litres are sold for Rs 250 to Rs 500 depending on the shape and capacity.

An earthen pot seller said that due to the increase in the impact of the heat, people are showing interest in buying earthen pots for homes, offices and establishments. 100 pots are sold every day, he said.
