If you use drugs, you will lose your youth - Coimbatore Police Commissioner

Speaking at an awareness seminar on drug prevention at the Government Arts College in Coimbatore, City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan said, already only men were involved in drug use and rowdyism. Now, it is painful that some women have also got into it," he said.

Coimbatore: Coimbatore City Police Commissioner K Balakrishnan has said that strict action will be taken against those indulging in drug trafficking and rowdyism.

A seminar on drug prevention was organized by the Alumni Association at the Government Arts College, Coimbatore.

Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan was the chief guest at the function.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that as per the orders of the Chief Minister, anti-drug squads have been started in colleges across Tamil Nadu. I am happy that a drug prevention committee has also been launched in the Coimbatore Government College.

On behalf of Coimbatore city police, we are working with colleges to explain the evils of drugs in detail. Everyone knows how big a problem addiction has become. We are all talking about this now in the interest of the future society.

Steps are being taken to eradicate it completely. Whether it is drugs or rowdyism, the police will not be looking after it. Strict action will be taken against those who indulge in such acts.

When one uses drugs regularly, our youth suffers completely. So decide for yourself whether you need this habit. There was a demand that if ganja was to be abolished, rowdyism should be abolished.

Accordingly, the goons were arrested and jailed in Coimbatore for the past few weeks. At first it was the men, who were in the habit of rowdy and drug addicted. Currently a few women are also indulging in rowdyism and drug addiction. This is a very regrettable thing.

When it comes to drugs and rowdyism, whether it's a man or a woman, it's the same thing. The law will do its duty without any discrimination. Surveillance cameras have been installed at all places in Coimbatore and we are monitoring it.

We have also collected information about who is involved in the sale of ganja. Action will be taken against them.
