Valparai Mystery: Autopsy reveals New info about dead male elephant

The forest department has retrieved the body of a male elephant found dead in a forest near Valparai in Coimbatore district. An autopsy performed by veterinary professionals found that the elephants may have fought with each other before falling into the ditch and dying.

A male elephant was discovered dead in the Poonachi settlement forest region near Valparai in the Coimbatore district.

The elephant was discovered dead when the forest service went on patrol.



The elephant's body, which had been lying dead for several days, was examined in the presence of Anaimalai Tiger Reserve veterinary doctor Vijayaraghavan and Maruthuva Kullu, ACF Selvan, and Valparai range officer Aghior. At that point, the elephant's tusk had been safely extracted.



According to the autopsy, the deceased elephant may have been involved in a fight with another elephant before falling into a ditch and dying.

According to the forest department, there was no evidence of the elephant being poached.

According to the forest authorities, the dead elephant is between 37 and 42 years old, and following the autopsy, the body will be released for natural decomposition and food for other animals.
