Tirupur: Three persons were injured when the roof of the Kondathu Kaliamman temple near Perumanallur near Avinashi collapsed for the festival.
The famous Kondathu Kaliamman temple at Perumanallur near Avinashi celebrated the Kundam and Chariot Festival from March 29 to April 8.
More than 300 shops were set up temporarily for this purpose.

While most of the shops were already vacating. At present, only goods and vehicles worth lakhs of rupees in those shops have been damaged as only the goods in about 150 shops are being emptied. Three people, an elderly man and two women, were injured.

Perumanallur police have reached the spot and are investigating. As the temple festival ended, major loss of life and property has been averted due to the accident.
Meanwhile, the traders have complained that the pandal contractor did not set up the pandal properly.
