Three persons, including a boy, arrested for stabbing a youth from Assam near Thondamuthur

Rahimul Hussain, a native of Assam, was walking on thondamuthur road last night when three men on a two-wheeler stabbed him with a knife and tried to flee. Two people, including the boy, were caught by the public and handed over to the police. The police arrested one of the absconders.



COIMBATORE: Police have arrested three persons, including a boy, for stabbing a youth from the northern state while he was walking on the road near Thondamuthur in Coimbatore.

The deceased has been identified as Rahibul Hussain (21), a resident of Brahmabil in Assam. He stays with his brother in Kuberapuri area of Thondamuthur in Coimbatore and works as a tile sticker.

Last night, Rahibul Hussain, along with his brother Mohammad Faisal, went to the shop, bought groceries and walked on the road to go back to the room.

Three youths, who came on a two-wheeler under the influence of alcohol, had an argument with Rahibul Hussain and assaulted him.

A youth named Chandru allegedly stabbed Rahibul Hussain with the knife he was hiding. The three escaped after he fainted.



Chandru (19), a native of Alandarai, and a 16-year-old boy, who stabbed the worker from the northern state, were caught and handed over to the Thondamuthur police.

Rahibul Hussain, who was injured in the incident, has been admitted to a government hospital in Coimbatore and is undergoing treatment. Arun Kumar (20), a native of Thondamuthur, who escaped on a two-wheeler, was also nabbed by the police.

Chandru, who was arrested in this case, is facing a case of murder of a school student pending against him.
