Jewellery thieves apprehended in Ooty: The disputes over sharing take a twist

Kannan and Mohan, two thieves from Ooty in the Nilgiris district, got into an argument over their distribution of stolen property. The two males were caught while under the influence of alcohol, and the police recovered 5 sovereigns in gold jewellery from them.


The Nilgiris: Two people have been arrested by police for their alleged involvement in a disagreement over the distribution of stolen jewellery.

Two people were fighting in the afternoon near the DMK's Arivalayam in the centre of Ooty town, holding valuables. After getting information about the event, Udhagai B1 police raced to the scene, apprehending and searching the two.

They were discovered to have five signs, five rings, and three pairs of earrings. The cops apprehended them and transported them to the police station for questioning. Kannan (50), of Missouri Hills in Ooty, and Mohan (57), of Woodlands Kuppam in Ooty, have been identified.

It was also found that the two had taken jewellery from the home of Thimmaiah (43), a local of Udhagai Kilthalaiyattu Mandai, yesterday night. It was also reported that they were confined after a fight erupted while distributing the stolen jewellery this afternoon at night.Following this, 5 sovereigns of jewels were discovered from their possession; were they engaged in any other theft incidents? The police are looking into the situation further.
