DMK Files: TN BJP chief Annamalai releases alleged asset list of DMK big wigs

Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai on Friday released a document titled 'DMK files’ where he revealed an list of a assets held allegedly by the top leaders of the ruling party including late M Karunanidhi, Chief Minister MK Stalin and his sister Kanimozhi.


The other leader who were mentioned in the list were - Durga Stalin, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Sabareesan (MK Stalin's son-in-law), Senthamari, (Stalin's sister), Dayanidhi Maran, Murasoli Maran, CEO of Sun TV Network, MK Alagiri (Karunanidhi’s son), and Dhayanidhi Alagiri.

K Annamalai in the ‘DMK files’ alleged that the top ministers and MK Stalin’s family members had unaccounted assets worth a whopping Rs 1,34,170 crores in the name of their family, friends and other benami assets.

“27 DMK leaders alone have assets amounting to over Rs. 2 lakh crore, which is 10% GDP of the Tamil Nadu.” BJP Tamil Nadu state president alleged.

Annamalai claimed that Rs 200 cr was given as an election fund to Stalin in 2011 through shell companies as quid pro quo for a CMRL tender. He said he will file a complaint with CBI.

The former IPS officer also said “The part 1 of the DMK files which contains the asset of DMK families released today. Part 2 will be out soon which will the details of the black money asset of the DMK families.”

The BJP chief also submitted the purchase bill for his ‘Rafael’ watch that he wears. He said he bought it from his friend Cheralathan of Coimbatore on May 27, 2021.

Earlier, Annamalai's choice of a Rafale watch has become the subject of intense political debate in the state, with the DMK attacking him for wearing a watch that costs close to Rs 5 lakh. Annamalai defended his stance by saying that the watch costs close to RS 5 lakh. Annamalai defended his stance by saying that the watch cost him Rs 3.5 lakh and that he wears it to flaunt his nationalist credentials since it was made of parts of the the Rafale aircraft.

Social media is also rife with allegations that the bill furnished by K Annamalai is of a different Rafale watch.
