Remand prisoner dies of convulsions in Central jail

Madheswaran (58) was arrested by the Perur Al-women police on the 19th of last month in connection with the POCSO case and is lodged in Coimbatore central jail.


Coimbatore: Madheswaran, a native of Karumathampatti, and a POCSO remand prisoner died of convulsions last night in the city's central jail.

According to the Central jail authorities, the said prisoner developed shortness of breath and convulsions and he was rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College hospital.

However, doctors declared him brought dead.

Madheswaran (58) was arrested by the Perur All-women police on the 19th of last month in connection with the POCSO case and is lodged in Coimbatore central jail.

The Race Course police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
