Coimbatore District Collector Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar flagged off an electric vehicle rally organised by the Society for Smart E-Mobility (SSEM) on September 9 to commemorate World Electric Vehicle Day and promote sustainable mobility.
Coimbatore: An electric vehicle exhibition and awareness programme was organised at Race Course in Coimbatore on the occasion of World EV Day by the Society for Smart E-Mobility (SSEM) to highlight the importance of sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation.
Coimbatore District Collector Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar flagged off an electric vehicle awareness rally as part of the programme. Various electric vehicles, including two-wheelers, cars and other vehicles, participated in the rally.
The programme was organised to create awareness about the role of electric vehicles in reducing dependence on fossil fuels and controlling air and noise pollution. It also focused on promoting cleaner, sustainable and zero-emission mobility.
Various types of electric vehicles, including two-wheelers and cars, were displayed as part of the exhibition, which drew the attention of the public.
College students who participated in the awareness programme carried placards with messages promoting environmental protection, pollution-free travel and sustainable transportation.
The event highlighted the need to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles as an environmentally friendly mode of transport and reduce the use of conventional fossil fuels. Participants also stressed the importance of building a cleaner and greener environment for future generations.
