School Students urge District Administration to introduce bus service to remote areas near Idikarai Village

The general public has alleged that students are finding it difficult to go to school due to the non-availability of government or private buses to Idikarai, where a Higher Secondary school and other schools are functioning.

Coimbatore: Demanding to introduce a bus service facility for the benefit of school students, the students and their parents have urged the District administration to facilitate the bus service

Students attending schools from MGR Nagar and Abdul Kalam Nagar areas are suffering due to the lack of bus connectivity.

The public have alleged that students are finding it difficult to go to school due to the non-availability of government or private buses to Idikarai, where the Higher Secondary school and other schools are functioning.

There is a Government HSS functioning in Idikarai Town Panchayat where class 6 to class 12 are taught. More than 100 students from MGR Nagar and Abdul Kalam Nagar areas under Idigarai town panchayat are studying in the school.

Students also attend Athipalayam Primary School, Idikarai Primary School and Idikarai Government High School to study.

However, the students are forced to walk for about one-and-a-half kilometres to board a TNSTC bus from a nearby village.

Even though petitions have already been submitted to government officials, including the District Collector, on behalf of the Idukkarai School and on behalf of the general public no action was taken on that front.

In the morning, a government bus arrives near Ranganathar Polytechnic and stops and it halts for only 20 minutes. Urging the authorities to extend the existing service to MGR Nagar, the students said it will be useful for school children, and workers.

Students, parents and the general public have said this will also help increase the enrolment of girl students from impoverished sections in schools.
