A Plea to repair the damaged footpath at Udumalpet Bus stand

As the ground and handle of the footpath with the handle set up for the public to come to the Udumalpet Central Bus Stand are damaged and unusable. Social activists have urged the government to act immediately to restore it.

Tirupur: The Central Bus Stand is located in the heart of Udumalpet in Tirupur district. A large number of buses are operated daily from here to the surrounding villages and outlying districts.

Aside from that, buses from outside the state arrive and depart at the bus stop.

Due to this, the bus stand is busy from morning to evening. A few months ago, a footpath was constructed to enable the public to safely enter the bus stand.

A footpath with a side handle was constructed from the entrance area of the bus station to the end of the border. The pavement, which has been in use for some time, has been deteriorated for months due to improper basement and side handle maintenance.

Moreover, the purpose of constructing the corridor and the funds for it are being wasted. It is the duty of the concerned administration to properly revamp and put into use any service or project initiated for the public at the right time. But it is painful that the public suffers due to negligence.

Therefore, pedestrians and social activists have demanded that the concerned municipal administration should restore the footpath set up at Udumalai Central Station and bring it to the use of the public.
