Elephants damage children's home, temple and shops in Valparai

Four wild elephants entered a residential area near Valparai in Coimbatore district. They also damaged a children's home, a ration shop and a temple. Due to this, the people of the area are scared. They have also demanded that the elephants should be driven into the forest.

Coimbatore: Elephants have been spotted in the estate areas surrounding Valparai in recent days.

Last night, four wild elephants entered the Pannimedu Estate area near Valparai from the forest.

At that time, they broke the windows, doors, walls and children's home, temple, fair price shop and the storeroom.

The wild elephants were then driven into the forest area by an estate vehicle.

As the movement of wild elephants is on the rise, there is a demand that the forest department should prevent them from entering the residential areas and provide security to the public.
