Worker dies after falling from tree under the influence of alcohol near Vellalore

Jayakumar (45), a resident of Devendra Street in Nanjundapuram near Vellalur, who was living separately from his wife due to differences of opinion, climbed on to a banyan tree in an inebriated state and accidentally fell down and was admitted to the hospital.

Coimbatore: In a tragic incident, a man died after falling from a banyan tree under the influence of alcohol near Vellalore in Coimbatore.

Jayakumar (45), son of Vellingiri, a resident of Devendra Street in Nanjundapuram, Coimbatore. He is a painter and has a wife named Suguna. 

It is learnt that Jayakumar used to come drunk and quarrel with her wife every day.

Suguna had separated from Jayakumar and was staying at her house in Tirupur due to differences between the husband and wife.

In this situation,on the 23rd a festival was held at the Mariamman temple in the area .

At that time, Jayakumar, who came under the influence of alcohol, climbed on to a banyan tree in the area and sat down.

Jayakumar accidentally fell from a tree and was seriously injured. The locals rescued him and sent him to Coimbatore government hospital in a 108 ambulance. 

Jayakumar, had been brought to the intensive care unit, died as a result of his injuries. Pothanur police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
