Tamil Nadu DGP Sylendra Babu today inaugurated four new police stations in Coimbatore city, including the newly constructed Kavundampalayam, Athupalam, Sundarapuram and Coimbatore South Women's Police Station.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the all-women police station at Podanur, he said that out of the total 1,352 police stations in Tamil Nadu, there are 202 women police stations. There are about 5 to 10 women police stations, especially for police sub-divisions.
10 new police stations have been opened following the chief minister's order to set up women's police stations for each sub-division. At present, there are 1570 police stations in Tamil Nadu. With the establishment of a new women's police station in coimbatore city south, the public can easily go and lodge a complaint.
