Madurai Veeran and Chitra had been living together for the past four months in a house on Chinnathadagam Mariamman Koil Road in Coimbatore. Madurai Veeran surrendered before the Nilakottai court in Dindigul district for the murder of Chitra, after having been locked in his house for two days.
Coimbatore: Chitra (35) hails from Theni district. She was working as an assistant at a restaurant in Velandipalayam area of Coimbatore. Maduraiveeran (39), a native of Dindigul district, who was running a tailor's shop in the same locality, became acquainted.
For the past four months, the couple had been living together in a house on Chinnathadagam Mariamman Koil Road in Coimbatore. Madurai Veeran, who had been locked in his house for the past two days, surrendered before the Nilakottai court in Dindigul district for the murder of Chitra.
The Dindigul police then informed the Coimbatore police. Thadagam police proceeded to the house where the event took place, forced open the lock, and walked inside, where they found Chitra lying dead.
Following this, the police recovered Chitra's body and transported it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Following this, the police questioned Maduraiveeran, who had been living with Chitra for the previous four months.
He stated that she became acquainted with someone else and used to talk on the phone frequently, and that on the 29th, the two got into an argument while they were at home inebriated. In a fit of rage, chitra was stabbed to death with scissors. Maduraiveeran was sent to judicial custody for 15 days.
