Arrangement to lodge a complaint through a toll-free phone number on smuggling of ration rice!

The Anti-Food Smuggling Crime Branch (CID) police have announced that the public can file complaints regarding smuggling and hoarding of PDS items, including ration rice, by calling 95950 180059.



Coimbatore: The Anti-Food Smuggling Criminal Investigation Unit (CID) police have announced that complaints can be lodged through a toll-free telephone number regarding smuggling and hoarding of PDS goods.

According to a press release released by the Coimbatore Anti-Food Smuggling Intelligence Unit police, the Tamil Nadu government is providing essential commodities such as ration rice through the Public Distribution System to aid poor and middle-class families.

Some people are illegally smuggling them and selling them in the black market with the intention of making more profits. The public can lodge a complaint on the number 18005995950 about the smugglers and hoarders of food items. Secrecy will be maintained about the complainants.

In addition, a police control room has been opened for the state anti-food smuggling crime branch to operate 24 hours a day. It should be noted that it operates under the direct control of the Police Chief.

As a part of this, the Civil Supplies CID police have been deployed on the main roads of Coimbatore, bus stand, railway station, Announcement posters of free phone number are being pasted at ration shops for public awareness. This is stated in the report.
