Ganesan hails from Sengodampalayam near Palladam in Tirupur district. He is a construction worker and was recently found inebriated in a forest area near government liquor shop no. 2205 in Kamanaickenpalayam, where he had illegally purchased a bottle of liquor that morning. After consuming it, he was found lying in the forest area surrounding the shop.
Tirupur: Ganesan, a construction worker from Sengodampalayam village, died near a liquor shop after buying a bottle of liquor at a government liquor shop in Kamanaickenpalayam near Palladam. Ganesan's body recovered and sent to Palladam government hospital.
Police are investigating whether he died after consuming alcohol.

Ganesan hails from Sengodampalayam near Palladam in Tirupur district. Ganesan, a construction worker, was found to be in an inebriated condition by purchasing illegally sold liquor bottles from morning near the government liquor shop no. 2205 in Kamanaickenpalayam. When the shop opened at 12 noon, he bought a bottle of liquor and after consuming it, he found his body lying in a forest area near the liquor shop.
People in the area informed the Kamanaickenpalayam police station that Ganesan was lying dead. Illegal sale of liquor has been going on since morning in Kamanaickenpalayam areas.

However, preliminary investigations revealed that Ganesan died after consuming coconut pill mixed with liquor due to family issues.

"We don't know whether the liquor bottles that have been sold illegally since morning are adulterated liquor. Alcohol lovers in the area say they have no choice but to buy liquor bottles that are sold at a price as they go to wage labour.
