The Nilgiris District Collector Amrith inaugurated the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Thalaikundha in Nilgiris district. Then, he carried out cleaning works on the roadsides and collected the garbage.
Coimbatore: District Collector Amrith inaugurated the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan held at Thalaikundha in Coimbatore.
A massive cleanliness drive was organised by all parties at Thalaikundha area of Hullathi panchayat in Nilgiris district.
On this occasion, District Collector Amrith inaugurated and carried out the cleanliness drive.
Those who attended the camp were given gloves and a gunny bag for garbage collection.
Speaking on the occasion, District Collector Amrith said,
The Swachh Bharat Mission's principal goal is to clean up the entire country. Garbage should be separated into biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste and composted, while non-biodegradable waste should be recycled.
Therefore, if you collect garbage in your area through The Swachh Bharat Mission, they will come and take it in vehicles. So all of you should cooperate with the district administration and make the Nilgiris plastic-free.
Only if the city is clean will the country be clean. As a result, everyone should work together to make the city garbage-free.
Kottasiyar Duraisamy, Assistant Director of MunicipalIties Ibrahim Shah, Ooty Panchayat Union President Mayan, Ooty Municipal Commissioner Ekaraj, Ooty Block Development Officers Sridhar and Nandakumar, Ooty Municipal Health Officer Dr Sreedharan Ullathi Panchayat President Santosh Kumar and others participated in the meeting.
All of them worked together on the roadside and in the forest areas and collected garbage. A large number of people from various organisations, social activists, general public and sanitation workers participated in the cleanliness drive.
