Coimbatore: A complaint has been lodged with the District Collector against a police inspector who assaulted a businessman over a dispute with regard to car parking in an apartment complex in Coimbatore.

Parthiban who hails from GV Residency area in Coimbatore lives with his wife Lakshmi Devi and their children in their own private apartment in the area. Inspector Kasi Pandian of R S Puram police station in Coimbatore also lives with his family in the same apartment.

Inspector Kasi Pandian reportedly parked his car in the 'No Parking' area of the apartment on Thursday.

Parthiban, who took a photo of this on his mobile phone, shared it on the Whatsapp group of apartment owners. Enraged by this, Inspector Kasi Pandian called Parthiban on his mobile phone and allegedly threatened him.

Thereafter, the Inspector reportedly entered Parthiban's house along with his family and attacked him. Parthiban was then admitted to the Coimbatore Government Hospital.
