In Salem, Isha Outreach conducts medical training and Siddha doctor consultation

Isha Outreach held a hands-on training session on Nalam, a traditional health system, at the Isha Rural Health Clinic in Salem. During the training, the participants were provided with an introduction to the basic science of Siddha and the benefits of herbs. Additionally, they learned how to prepare healthy food and various home remedies.


Coimbatore: Isha Rural Health Clinic, Salem, under the aegis of Isha Outreach, held a hands-on training session on Nalam, a traditional health system, on July 8th.

Participants were introduced to the fundamental science of Siddha and the advantages of herbs, as well as how to create nutritious diet and various home remedies. The Rural Health Clinic conducts these training sessions every month and this was the third session of the second batch of twenty-four enthusiastic participants.

The class delved in deep about Tulasi, Adathodai, Thuthuvalai herbs and the relationship between human body and the 5 elements. Practical takeaways of the training included learning to prepare the Herbal Cough Syrup - Adadodai Manapagu, Herbal Ghee - Thuthuvalai Nei, Herbal Tooth Powder - Tulasi Tooth Powder and a First Aid medicine - Minsara Rasam.



Following the training session, Siddha consultations were organised for 28 participants on the next day, July 9th. The once a month Siddha clinic specifically focuses on people having chronic non communicable diseases like Uncontrolled Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart Diseases, PCOS, Tumors, Arthritis, Skin Diseases, Gut issues, etc.



The consultations aims to reverse the diseases with changes in diet, lifestyle and use of herbal medicines The Nalam sessions and the Siddha consultations are conducted by the alumnus of Isha Samskriti, who are also registered medical practitioners, and dedicate their life for the cause of creating culture of health in the community.
