The Indian Bank Employees Federation (IBEF) organized a 4,000-km-long campaign from Wednesday to oppose the Union government's various decisions. Accordingly, the campaign tour was held near Thiruvalluvar bus stand in Gandhipuram area of Coimbatore. More than 30 members of the Indian Bank Employees Federation participated in the event.

The campaign aims to privatise the Union Government's public sector banks and take cooperative banks away from state governments. The move to sell rural bank shares to the private sector has been denounced, with an emphasis on ensuring improved customer service and returning people's savings to them.
