Various demands, including that the forest department should grant permission to convert the routes from the land into concrete lanes, have been pressed into various demands.
The procession started by playing traditional musical instruments and passed through the main street of the city, gheraoed the forest department office and staged a protest.

"We strongly condemn the non-granting of permission by the Udumalai forest department officials even after the district collector granted permission to construct a road in the forest area," the protesters said.
More than 300 tribals gheraoed the Udumalpet forest department office and cooked and staged a sit-in protest.
