Farmers' unions protest to sell coconut oil to be sold at ration shops

The ration shops should ban palm oil and distribute coconut oil. Ration shops should be provided with coconut oil instead of palm oil imported from the country. Like other states in India, the ban on toddy in Tamil Nadu should be lifted. The difficulties in the export of coconuts should be removed.

Peeled green coconut should be procured at the rate of 50 per kg through cooperative societies. Copra coconut should be fixed at Rs 140 per kg.

The difficulties faced by the value-added marketing industry such as coconut based by-products such as fibre industry, fibre granules, etc., should be removed.
