Police arrest Odisha youth for storing ganja for sale near Periyanaickenpalayam in Coimbatore

The police found that the youth was smuggling ganja from other states, storing it and selling it near Periyanaickenpalayam. 5 kg of ganja was seized from him.


Coimbatore: The Periyanaickenpalayam police arrested a youth from Odisha for hoarding ganja for sale near Periyanaickenpalayam in Coimbatore. The police seized 5 kg of ganja from the youth, arrested him and sent him to jail.

The Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police V Badri Narayanan has been taking strict action against peddling of drugs in Coimbatore district. On receiving a tip-off that miscreants were involved in the sale of ganja in the vicinity of Periyanaickenpalayam in Coimbatore, a team of police led by Sub-Inspector Silambarasan patrolled the Onnipalayam Pirivu near Periyanaickenpalayam.

Sugandha Kumar, a youth from Odisha was found hovering in the area in a suspicious manner, and hence was interrogated. The police found that he was smuggling ganja from other states, storing it and selling it near Periyanaickenpalayam.



The police seized 5 kg of ganja from him. Following this, Sugandha Kumar was arrested and produced before the court and lodged in Coimbatore Central Jail.
