Pipe breaks near Dharapuram, wastage of drinking water

Public have demanded that the water supply pipeline on the Mulanur-Vellakoil road near Puduppai Muthusamy Temple and Nal Road should be repaired immediately due to a breach in the water pipeline for the past 10 days.



Tirupur: The people of Tirupur have demanded that the water supply on the Mulanur-Vellakoil road next to Dharapuram should be repaired immediately due to a breach in the water pipeline causing wastage of water.

Water is being supplied to Vellakoil, Mulanur, Kulathupalayam, Dharapuram and Kundadam areas through The Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board through The Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board through The Kodumudi Cauvery River under The Cauvery Combined Water Supply Scheme.

For the past 10 days, thousands of litres of water is being wasted and flowing on the road near Puthuppai Muthusamy Koil and Nal Road on the Mulanur-Vellakoil road.

People in the area said they were pained to see how much water was wasted on the road during the summer. Moreover, there are frequent pipeline breaks at the site and drinking water is being wasted.

The people of the area have demanded that the authorities concerned should take immediate action to repair the breach in the water pipeline immediately.
