Coimbatore Dist. Collector participates in second meeting of Coimbatore District Planning Commission

The second meeting of the District Planning Committee was held at the Collectorate in Coimbatore in the presence of the District Collector, Kranthi Kumar Pati, with the District Planning Commission Chairman Shanthimathi Ashokan presiding over the meeting.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Collector, Kranthi Kumar Pati has stated that all departmental officials should work in coordination to ensure that development projects can be implemented expeditiously.

The second meeting of the District Planning Committee was held at the Collectorate in Coimbatore in the presence of the District Collector Kranthi Kumar and presided over by the District Planning Commission Chairman, Shanthimathi Ashokan.

The meeting was attended by the District Planning Officer, District Panchayat Secretary Bhaskar, District Planning Committee members, Municipal Council Presidents, Town Panchayat Presidents, Panchayat Union Committee members and Government officials.



The District Planning Committee has been constituted to coordinate the schemes prepared by the District Panchayats, Panchayat Unions, Panchayats, Town Panchayats, Municipalities and Corporations in the district and to prepare a comprehensive draft development plan for the entire district.The task of this Committee is to formulate development strategies, schemes and action plans for the district.

Speaking at the meeting, theDistrict Planning Commission Chairman, Shantimathi Ashokan stated that the second meeting was currently underway. "On the request of the members of the Planning Commission, identity cards have been issued to all the members of the Planning Commission on Tuesday. The demands made by the members of the District Planning Commission have also been forwarded to the concerned departments in consultation with the District Collector. The concerned departmental officers should take appropriate action on the demands and report the details to the District Planning Commission," she added.

Speaking on the occasion, the Coimbatore District Collector, Kranthi Kumar Pati said, "The District Planning Committee will discuss the preparation of a new development plan and various suggestions will be made for the required project. This will help in preparing a better plan. In respect of the demands made in this meeting which is held once in three months, the concerned officers should inform about the action taken on those demands in the next meeting. This will enable faster implementation of development projects. For this, all the departmental officers should work in coordination," he added.
