Tirupur: A grama sabha meeting near Dharapuram witnessed a public gathering carrying black flags.

Dharapuram Kavandachipudur Panchayat Grama Sabha meeting was held at Sampath Nagar Park in Tirupur district under the chairmanship of President Selvi. PTO Sivagurunathan Village Panchayat, APTO Isakimuthu and Vice President Nachimuthu took the lead.

Petitions were submitted on behalf of the public seeking drinking water and basic amenities. Further, documents related to the budget and account should be submitted and steps should be taken to remove the garbage dumped throughout the panchayat area, questions were asked on the part of the public.
A farmer's straw was burnt and damaged after sanitation workers set fire to the garbage in Ram Nagar area of Alangiyam Road. At the grama sabha meeting, the people of the area came with black flags and asked the leader Selvi a series of questions.

They also lodged a complaint with the Dharapuram police station in connection with the fire, alleging that the police did not take any action.
Unable to respond to this, the panchayat president refused, causing a stir.
The meeting passed 21 resolutions, including prevention of dengue outbreak and early monsoon warning measures.
