Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Industrial Sector Electricity Consumers Federation has issued a stern warning, announcing a massive hunger strike in Chennai on the 16th if their demands are not met regarding the increased electricity tariff in the state.

The federation, led by convenor James, escalated their protests after previous actions, including a hunger strike in Prasadpettai and letters to the Chief Minister, failed to yield results. More than 200 protesters gathered at the Coimbatore district collector's office, donning black patches and chanting slogans, emphasizing their demands.

Tensions rose as police intervened, stopping them from meeting the district collector directly. After negotiations, a delegation of 20 key administrators was allowed to meet the District Collector to press their demands further.
