Literary Enthusiasm Abounds at Dharapuram Government College’s Literature Club Festival

Students Showcase their Passion for Language and Literature at the Government Arts College in Dharapuram


 Dharapuram: In an intellectually charged atmosphere, the Government College of Arts and Science, Dharapuram, witnessed the Literary Forum Festival, a gathering that delved into the profound impact of literature on human life. The event, organized by the Department of English, sparked the curiosity of students, fostering discussions on the vital connection between language, literature, and the human experience.

Presided over by the college’s esteemed Principal, Dr. K. Padmavathy, the Literary Forum Festival commenced with a warm welcome and insightful address by Associate Professor and Head of the Department of English, Professor Rao Sivasamy.

A highlight of the event was the presence of A. Amirthalingam, Assistant Professor of the English Department at Muttur Karuppanan Mariapappan College, who served as the special guest. Amirthalingam delivered a captivating lecture on the theme ‘Language-Life-Director,’ enlightening students about the profound contributions of language and literature to human life. His engaging discourse resonated with the audience, emphasizing the transformative power of words and narratives.



The festival also provided a platform for students to express their perspectives. Second-year English literature student Ma. Dhanalakshmi eloquently emphasized the importance of the English language among students, highlighting its role in shaping academic and professional trajectories. Further enriching the event, second-year English literature students S. Ashwini and Ra. Deepika took charge as hosts, ensuring the smooth flow of the program.

Expressing gratitude and appreciation, first-year English literature student Mahamuda Irbana delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective effort that made the Literary Forum Festival a resounding success.

The event’s organizational brilliance was credited to the dedicated efforts of Honorary Lecturers of the Department of English, R. Harsh Thabe, Karthikeyan, B. Sudhakar, and M. Sandhya, whose meticulous planning and execution ensured a stimulating and intellectually rewarding experience for all attendees.

The Literary Forum Festival at Dharapuram Government College not only provided students with valuable insights into the world of language and literature but also served as a testament to the college’s commitment to fostering a culture of intellectual exploration and academic excellence.
