Leopard Captured After Attacking Two in Gudalur, Tranquilized by Mudumalai Veterinary Team

A leopard, which attacked and killed two people in Gudalur, was tranquilized and captured by the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary veterinary team led by Dr. Rajesh.


The Nilgiris: In a critical operation, a leopard that had attacked and killed two people in the Gudalur area was successfully captured.



This incident took place near the Mango Range, Ambros, where the leopard was tranquilized. The Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary's veterinary team, led by Dr. Rajesh, spearheaded this operation.

Utilizing a kumki elephant, Dr. Rajesh managed to safely administer the tranquilizer to the leopard, facilitating its capture.



The leopard is now being transported to Mudumalai for further monitoring and care.



This decisive action was crucial to prevent any further attacks and to ensure the safety of both the local community and the animal. The incident has brought attention to the challenges of managing wildlife in areas close to human habitats.
