Coimbatore: The festive spirit of Pongal was in full swing at the Karpagam Arts & Science College in Echanari, Coimbatore. The celebrations, held on January 12, 2024, were inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Dr. P. Venkatachalapathi. Students and faculty came together in a colorful display of Tamil Nadu's rich cultural heritage.
The event was marked by a procession of cattle, horses, and goats, symbolizing the agricultural significance of Pongal. Students participated in traditional Tamil martial arts like Silambam and Ottai Kambu, alongside competitions in Pongal cooking and Kolam drawing.




The college ground echoed with enthusiasm during games like Uri Adithal and tug of war. Highlighting the cultural aspect, local artists performed Karagam, Poykkal Kudirai, and Parai Aattam, captivating the audience.
