The sacred observance of Makara Jyothi, a significant event following the Makara Vilakku pooja at the Sabarimala Ayyappan temple, was celebrated at the Siddhapudur Ayyappan temple in Coimbatore, often referred to as the second Sabarimala, on January 15th.
After the customary deeparadhana, the auspicious Makara Jyothi was witnessed at Ponnambalamedu. Mirroring the events at Sabarimala, Ayyappan temples across the region participated in the Jyothi darshan event. In Siddhapudur, special decorations adorned the deity, and devotees engaged in poojas and received the Jyothi darshan, marking a divine experience.
