Minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan leads Language Martyrs Day Commemoration by DMK Student Wing in Coimbatore

The DMK Student Wing of Coimbatore District organized a public meeting on Thursday evening, 25th January 2024, at 6:30 PM on V.K.K. Menon Road, Siddhapudur, Coimbatore, to commemorate "Language Martyrs Day".


Coimbatore: The DMK Student Wing of Coimbatore District organized a public meeting on Thursday evening, 25th January 2024, at 6:30 PM on V.K.K. Menon Road, Siddhapudur, Coimbatore, to commemorate "Language Martyrs Day".



The meeting began with a tribute to the portraits of language martyrs, where the attendees offered floral respects. Following this, Dr. P.T.R. Palanivel Thiagarajan, the esteemed Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services of Tamil Nadu, adorned the martyrs' portraits with garlands, paying homage to their sacrifice.



Na. Karthik, Ex. MLA and Coimbatore District Secretary, presided over the meeting and delivered the keynote address. V. Shivaprakash, the organizer of the Coimbatore District Student Wing, welcomed the attendees.

Several dignitaries graced the event with their presence and speeches, including Tamil Nadu Minister for Housing, Urban Development, and Prohibition Enforcement, S. Muthusamy, and Tha. Adithan. They emphasized the importance of preserving the Tamil language and culture.



Coimbatore Municipal Corporation Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar, along with other prominent leaders and officials from the district, were present. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ra. Sruthipriya, the Deputy Organizer of the District Student Wing.



The meeting was a significant gathering, witnessing the participation of hundreds, including party workers, BLA-2 (Part-time Representatives), and supporters, all united to remember and honor the language martyrs.
